A Brief Summary of NIOSH Ratings (NIOSH is the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) :

N = not resistant to oil, R = resistant to oil, P = oil proof (the oil referred to here is airborne oil mists or particles such as lubricants, cutting fluids, etc.)

95 = 95% efficient, 100 = 99.97% efficient (example: an N95 respirator is not resistant to oil degradation and is at least 95% efficient for the particle sizes tested down to 0.3 microns)
