Remove old metal grille If you are remodeling, first cut around any existing caulking on your old metal grille. Remove the screws or nails that hold the grill in the wall or ceiling. Then simply put out the entire grille assembly from the return air opening. |
| Install Metal Sleeve Simply insert our metal sleeve into the prepared opening. The side flanges will help ensure a flush mount and prevent the sleeve from going through the opening. Screw the sleeve into the adjacent wall studs. |

Insert filter if required If your system requires a filter at the return air grille, insert your filter now. To simplify inserting filters in ceiling return air grilles, make sure your AC system is running so the filter "sticks" to the Sleeve. |
| Insert Wooden Grille First insert the Grille with the brackets, just behind the big curl of the sleeve. Then insert the bottom. |
